Do you folks have "titles" to your motor vehicles in Germany ?

How about the surrounding countries in the European Community ?

A title over here is a document issued with the manufacture
of the vehicle and it has to follow the vehicle to trace the ownership.
It is assigned to the current owner.

If someone is willing to ship a bike from Hungary free of charge to
someone holding a passport in this country, with a Dutch registration
and Belgian bill of sale, is something wrong or sinister about that transaction ?
Regards,
Michael....... (when I type this out the whole thing sounds fishy) :- (

Hello

Yes we something similar to your "title" here in germany.
It is called "Fahrzeugbrief".
It identifies the vehicle and the one who owns the "Fahrzeugbrief" owns the vehicle.

Other european countries have similar papers.

Without these papers it is not possible to bring the vehicle on the road.

So I would ask your authorities what you need to bring the bike on the road in USA.

But you are right, the offer is a little bit unusual.
I would be cautious....

have a look at:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=zulassungsbes ... &ia=images

in Germany "Fahrzeugbrief" is the common word for "Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil2"

nevertheless, I would be careful, if someone took the papers from another bike an only fudged the frame number......

Important: The identification of the bike is always coupled to the frame-number! AFAIK in USA it is coupled with the motor-number. So here it is common to change a (defective?) motor without changing something in the "zulassungsbescheinigung".

Cheers,
Hans
