Th TS-Frame ist the best frame for side-car biking. There is bulid in an new engine from an ETZ250. Now you will have the better electric witch 12 Volt and 180Watt. The normal TS-elektrik has only 6Volt/60(90)Watt.
But the original-Engine moves better,it has a better torque, than the ETZ-engine.
Unfortunately there ist the original drum brake mounted. Allmost it works not as well, as a disc brake. When you by this Motorcycle with sidecar, i think you have to change it. Only the seat and the windshild from the sidecar ist not original from MZ, but it looks very well. Also the headlamp of the motorcycle is not original, its from a east-german tractor :ja:
(sorry my bad english, it´s a long time ago, i´ve learnt it)

Hello
This is a TS 250/1 model.
It was built in the 80s.
But many things are not original on this bike:
Engine is a 12 V ETZ 250 engine.
Sidecar has not the original lights.
Siedecar seat is not original
Headlamp is not original.
No sidecar brake.
And some other small parts are not original(like the missing lock of the sidecar trunk)
In this condition price here in germany is 1500 -2000 Euro(maximal).
So the price it much too high...

Thank you all for comments. Guesi, that's exactly what I thought. Even though it is probably the only one in the US, I have no intention of buying at that price. I just want to go look to broaden my knowledge of MZ history, and also the originality of this model. Obviously the seller has no clue and it will not sell at that price I'm sure. I love these bikes. Thank you all for the excellent replies. Experts alles.

The laws vary in each state. Here we can register any bike below 250cc, including two strokes, but can not ride them on our autobahns.

No, we can register any two stroke bike in Alabama. But the ones below 250cc can not be driven on the autobahns. And the small 50cc and lower do not even need to be registered here. In some states no two strokes can be registered at all unless they can pass strict emission regulations, like the police state of California. But most can not pass the test. I'd never live in Cali........
