Hello,
I found by accident, while searching for tours on MZ that you are talking about the trip we made

What can I say, MZ RULEZ

We were lucky becouse as I see today it was last chance to see those countries personally. It's not possible to go there now and I think it will take couple years again to calm down the situation in middle east region.
MZ's were bullet proof. I had battery failure in rotax. (new one and piece of s*it) in Turkey, so I kick it through the tour to start (god bless kickstarter!) Motorcycle battery of this type was impossible to buy there. My friend had dynamo failure in 250, but it came from his negligence. We bought car battery in Damascus and machine was unstopable

I didn't oil or tension the chain at all and it was still nice and clean after 9300 km, I didn't change engine oil. Rotax took 0,5 l of oil on this mileage. In my opinion it is pefrect bike for a tour like this. Extremly reliable, lightweight and it's capable to take heavy luggage. It's very comfortable bike for me. Position of me and pasenger is relaxed, and +1000 km was not a problem for us. Engine have enough power to go everywhere on everything. I changed rear shocks to new bilstein, put enduro handlebar, garmin, heated grips and alot of my heart into this bike

As you can see It repays the same.
We had accident at the end in czech republic 90 km from friends home. That's why you see our bike's broken. We hit each other at night. Lesson for the future. (bikes were ok to ride, we have cleaned the mess and drive to home on wheels)
Right now I have my Rotax on wheels again and we're preparing for another adventure

Tenere you see on the movie was almost new and did not survived the trip. On way home we split in Damascus. They went to Georgia and after many little failures (like wheel bearings) they had massive clutch damage imposible to fix on place. They ordered parts from Poland.
Regards!
