Hello,

Couple photos from Georgia (23.06.11 - 17.07.11). We were there on our MZ 500. When I'll make a movie from this tour I will post it here if you would like to see.

Regards!

Hi,

nice pics, nice trip. You can be sure, I'm a little bit green with envy about this big adventure.
Some friends and me, we have done a trip to Pöland in June, bad luck we haven't met.
I'm mad keen to watch your tour-video, please post it.

regards

Uwe

Great tour ... respect. Please, write somthing about the conditions. Had you a tent for overnight stays or B&B ...?
Which distances did you cover at one day maximum and minimum? How long was the jouney at all?
What spare parts had you on board with you and did any problems occur (concerning the motor bike ... ... of course).

Regards
Lothar

I were there in this time - 23.06.11 - 17.07.11, 7000 km on wheels total (ferry safes a lot of km). It took 4 days to reach Georgian border, and 5 days including 3 days on a ferry to reach home. We've slept in different places. Under sky, in motels, in a tent. We've asked people in villages for a place to stay. They usually show us something near their houses, so it was nice opportunity to exchange the word. (you need to speak Russian). On the way to Georgia I did about 800 - 1000 km/day on the highways. When you get there you make maybe 100 km a day. It's a small country. You can see everything mentioned in a travel book in 2 weeks without hurry.

From spares I took only tooth belt and spark plug, clutch and throttle cables + normal set of keys to change a tire for example. I took cross tire for rear wheel with me, which is recommended if you want to see real Georgia and drive fast on the roads (front was k41 enduro from heidenau). No problems with the bike as usual. It's perfectly reliable on the road and completely maintenance free. I didn't oil or tension the chain, i didn't change or add extra oil (it took less than 0,5 liter of oil on this millage). For me it's great touring bike if you want to see something on the east where power, top speed and other fancy s*it off modern, as they call it nowadays (and what makes me laugh  ) , "adventure bikes" is useless.

Luggage carries are reinforced by me (i cut of everything and made new), because original Hepco&Becker are too weak, and I needed to change rear shocks to new double spring gas bilstein. After this trip I have to fix rear carrier from country model also. It's nice for normal load and normal roads, but on stony, bumpy roads with more than 35 kilos on the top, it start to crack (I didn't weld it in Georgia it was fine enough to drive with this crack back home)

Well done. The tooth belt I have always with me, too. But on our - in comparison relaxing - Romania-tour the throttle cable had broken indeed.
And the exhaust strap was broken. Don´t know how many kilometers we drove with only on the two manifolds hanging
exhaust because I was feeling nothing at all ...

So I´m looking forward to seeing everything ...

Kind regards
