Politics aside, I may be Welsh but I don't mind English. In my opinion, we're all here on this island British and are one nation (in my opinion, other people have their own).
I'll get some photos when I can.
You have an interesting point there Starke136. I have for a while also been suffering from stalling @ idle rpm (set to 1,300) when I use my indicators and or headlights. But, the rain problem seemed a different issue. It felt differently, and even with lights off we get stalling. But it may or may not be connected. I was wondering about the battery. So when I got home I tested it to read 12.7v after 1 hour of being off, and the next morning (12 hours later of resting) we get 12.38v. And it also occurred to me the stalling generally only occurred when the engine was 'warm' ie, after the bike had been ridden a few miles. So I felt the coil, and it feels warm but not hot. I have had coil failures before of course but they tend to get worse with time, sometimes in quick time.
I don't have (never did, the bike was 27 years old by the time I got it, so it lived some life before my ownership) any covering caps over the coil electrical connections.
I must also mention I have an electronic ignition (I have had mounted on the bike some 10 years now) that is just a contactless system - but still retains the original stator/rotor setup of the bike. The system documented on this website:
https://www.retro2oo.com/mz-etz-125-150 ... -retro2oo/I think it might be the case that I have more than one problem, one masking the other.
When I get time I will take the seat off and look at the coil/connections and maybe do some spraying of mist water on the connections to see if they give any effect.
