Ts 250/1 neutral light/switch problem

Hi guys,

I have a problem with neutral light on ts 250/1 engine.

Instead of a bulb I have a led with 2 wires(+ possitive connected to the ignition switch and - negative to neutral switch
on the gearbox).

When the ignition switch is in the position for engine start(spark available) and the gearbox lever is in neutral;then when I connect the wire from the neutral switch to the ground somewere on the engine,the neutral light works normally.When this wire is connected to the neutral swich,the light doesnt work.

Is there a posibility that something in the gearbox is missing and cause of that I can not get the neutral light/switch to work?
Or the replacement neutral switch is faulty?

When the plastic neutral switch breaks due to overtorque,what is the easiest way to remove the rest of it from the engine?

remove the old switch, and look inside the hole at the engine. now you should see the part of the "schaltwalze". the small round metal part at the left of the photo is the contact for the "switch".

the switch is not a switch, it is only a metal part with a spring, so you can measure resistance which should be rather low. try to clean it, make sure the spring is strong enough, so there can be no other damage.

for removal: first try a really good socket, if that doesn work, try a hot/smoldering large screwdriver to create a new recess

maybe the LED´s are not good for this use ?
There are not enaugh current, if Oil is between the contacts ????

Selector barrel has a plastic cover(no ground unless in neutral),when the gearbox is in neutral the neutral switch gets contact/ground from the hole in the plastic cover(marked with red arrow)

The hole on the selector barrel was too small and dirty and due to no contact the neutral light did not work ...
