Bilstein instead of classic shocks in MZ 500 tour/94

Hi everyone!

I have one question about Bilstein. I would like to buy one becouse my originals fails (oil leak, damage not only in seals). But before I pay about 300 euro for them I must know that they fit exacly in the same mounting position. Maybe someone can supply some pictures, sizes etc.

Here in Poland we have about 15 of Rotax MZ, few of them in good condition. I bought mine with destroyed front, it took a year and a half to get in together and now it looks like this:

I also have ETZ 150. We did thousands of km together.

See you on the road! :)

Hello and welcome to our forum! :D
I also ride a Rotax-MZ (Silverstar), but I can´t answer your question. Maybe you shold ask "Ente" -> www.motorradente.de , he is a dealer for MZ parts and I think he speaks english. But I translate your question in German:
Also Leute, wer kann ihm weiterhelfen?
Gruß, Martin.

Hi Roman,

I have found the website of Bilstein shocks for motorcycles: http://www.bilstein-motorrad.de/ and the e-mail address to contact them directly to get a clear answer: bilstein-motorrad@t-online.de.

Good luck!

Thanks, but unfortunetly nobody knows... It was hard to find some pictures which shows how oryginal bilstein was mounted in Country model, but I found some and I can tell right know to everybody interested, that they DON'T FIT!! Top section of the frame was different. In older models it look's like this: (I know this dimmensions, i send this fotos to people earlier with question: What they have in country in that place)

How it locks in country I don't know, but as I see here shock's are mounted next to original place.

What I found in past few months. I wrote to bilstein-motorrad and after couple mails we made a deal. Thanks to brixtoncat for a mail to them. Very nice and pro customer care, good contact. They have 370 or 390 mm long shock. I took longer ones. N390-DS for 382 euro/pair with post and tranfer cost. Springs are 7 mm shorter, 8 mm longer. They fit to oryginal mounting place.

Hi Roman,

Glad things turned out for good :-)! I think your bike is much more comfortable now with brand new springs and struts.

The older they get, the harder they are - so you must be a lucky guy now.
