Hi guys
I've got the MZ engine overhauled and have now begun using it on the highway.
I run a tall gearing (Too tall tbh.) so it is hard for me to keep a good cruising speed in 5th. Today I tried downgearing to 4th and get it up through the revs; but when reaching the cruising speed of 5th it cut out on several occasions.
Shifting to 5th when this happens and everything returns to normal.
Before this I raised the needle one notch, because the old needle was so worn that it fell down one notch. I raised it because it could explain why it was having a hard time maintaining cruise speed if it was running too lean.
Now I am just thinking that it gets too much gas and empties the floatbowl chamber.
So here is what I am going to do:
Change the sparkplug - It's easy and needs to be done anyway.
Lowering the needle one notch - It ran this way before without me noticing anything. However, that was also with a lower gearing and a worn needle.
What do you think?
