Hi guys.

I´m driving Mz es 250/2 and for a while I have been thinking how to increase its top speed...

1.installation of ts 250/1 5 speed engine
2.increasing the rpm...increasing the ccm of the engine to 275/285 or even 300 ccm? What piston sizes are we talking about then?
The ts cylinder can be max.drilled to/its bore increased to what size?
3.more fuel/other carburetor
4.change the size of sprockets? Has anyone tried to do that? Install the smaller aft sprocket?
5.modify the exhaust and install the reed valves.

Hi mario,

how much more speed do you need to be satisfied?
I think if you use the TS250/1 engine it would not be more than10-15 km/h possible without modifications on this engine.
Here a lots of threads about modifications on the different Mz but in my oppinion its a lot of work for some more km/h respectivly more power.
It would be cheaper to by other bikes.
bye
Chris

Thank you for your answer Ochris

The desirable max speed would be around 150 km/h.
I´m pretty sure that mz etz 300 ccm can achieve this speed.
With some modification I think the es 250/2 can do it.

Unfortinately, german language is a bit of a obstacle.I am using google translate but it doesent always translate in a meaningful way.

Hi Mario,

The original ETZ 301 has 23 HP, thats good for around 135 km/h.
For 150 km/h you`ll have a lot to change (~34 HP).
Are you familiar with adjusting cylinder portings, exhaust welding and carb tuning?

Regards Felix

Sorry Mario, but you are wrong. to arrive REAL 150Km/h with a MZ you need about 30Hp.
In my MZ ETZ 250/300 ther works a engine with Piston i built myself:

you see the holes for the Membran intake:

The four overflow channels from the ETZ are much bigger than the two channels from the TS.

My Engine was very expensive about 1000€ - i think, to make a TS-Engin so strong as mine, there is more money neccessary

Look at this german motorcycle:

http://www.motorradonline.de/einzeltest ... aten/72117

It has also one cylinder, 250ccm, but 27 or 28 Hp, it´s weight ist only 128Kg (gasoline includet!) and it run 159Km/h

And: it's not only the engine, you can push up; there is a lot of metal on the body you can try to rebuild it from any cheap plastic again. Is the weight from the complete bike AND you noticeable smaller, then you can use an bigger gear on the chain, engine-side. damn! Achim was faster.

If they didn't change their Website, you will probably find something about MZ-tuning here:

Hello Mario, go to my name and look at my theme. You found engines up to 380ccm and 46hp. Your es 250 goes up to 340ccm. In my theme are many pictures from this engines.
