I took my totaly restored ETZ251 for a testride today for the first time and i runned perfekt, but one thing i noticed was that i think my TS250/1 has better power than the ETZ251. Anyone else that has same experience between the models? :?:

Feels like it was TS that have 21 and ETZ 19. :)

That is the reason for some user here to stay with the TS-Engine and don't update to the ETZ when overhauling a TS
And on top I believe the TS Engine to look pretty much more like an oldtimer engine
And the fuel consumption of the TS should be a bit lower.

I acually do prefer the whole TS250/1 model before the ETZ. :)

Oh - the Disc Brake, the 12V (okay Vape) and the swingarm of the ETZ250 are fine

Does the ETZ have a different swingarm?

Jap the hole frame is different and the swingarm to the rear tyre ist much more robust, but the ETZ frame is crap in comparison to the TS frame.
Here is the TS and ETZ250 (not 251!)

In what way is the TS frame superior to the ETZ251 frame? :)

It is just the strongest/robustest frame of the all old MZ (RT-ETZ)
I was told the ETZ-frame was cheaper to produce.

I just love my TS..:)....but i will do as the MZ-brothers recomend and put a 12-volt Vape on it.....but the i wont put a discbrake on it, i think it will ruin the look.

I love mine too
Here is a link - with the Vape 12V and the H4 lamp of the the ETZ (oh another fine thing), disc brake, Grimeca brakepump.

For the future I plan the ETZ250 swingarm and maybe the 30N3-1 Carb from the ETZ251.
And maybe a switchable solution between the normal 2 seat system and an solo swing sattle and a luggage bridge

I use Addinol MZ406 2T for the TS150 and the TS250 - I read some rumors about a bearing (lower piston rod?!) in the TS250 Engine that will be corroded by full synth oils - but I don't know if this is true.
(bought 20l of the oil for 77€ - I think this is fine  )

in germany there are 2 version of 251: 13kW and 15kW. perhaps you have the 13kW version? see the exhaust, there is 13kW imprinted at the front.

the Difference can you see when you lay the Diagram of Power and Torque over the other.
The TS engine runs and shows Power from about 2000 rpm , the ETZ engine from about 3000rpm
(serial conditions each).

In the Result the driveability of the TS is much better than from the ETZ.

The Difference in the Frameworks is that the TS is made from solid Pipes, the ETZ frame is only
a thin tincan.
Maybe that the ETZ Frame ist better when it is stressed by vertikal inpact.
But it is really helpless by horizontal inpact.
The ETZ Frames are a reaction to/from the economical pressure in GDR.

I agree, the TS fels much more solid and well built.

No way!
Okay I was never good in construction, but the U-shape will shift up or down by a side impact!
For a side impact a round shape should be the superior shape.

It is not only the frame that is better on the TS, i think the engine feels stronger on the TS.
