I just read a story from England writen by a 301 Saxon owner, the bike was made 1994, at that time it was called MuZ. And what i could understand in the articel did the motorcycle have small problems all the time. Always something that broke or faulted. I have one TS250/1 -1977 and one ETZ251 -1989......will they also be unreliable etc......i thought MZ made i DDR was good quality...is it? Worth to be noticed is that the guy did all the required services etc. and so do I. Ofcourse a badly maintained motorcycle cant work well, so thats in not the reason in this case. :|

Hej! :)

You've made a good choice with your bikes.
Just do the regular maintenance and you'll have much fun with the 2 bikes.

Btw, the GDR ended up in 1990 ...

In the yaers before 1990, in western germany the bikers spoke not good from the MZ :( There ist no quality, they are too slow and so on. When the GDR was broken down, a lot of MZs were sold for an "apple and an egg" and much west-german-"bikers" bought MZ.
Suddenly they noticed, that a MZ needs some "love" and there are some parts, wich have to be changed. (chain, wires, tires )
A lot of MZs don`t got the love, they need and so they wastet :(, but these MZs, where got the love they need, are very fine bikes. The MZ-Engine, which i build myself in 1993, now drives for nearly 100 000Km with a very good performance
I don`t like the "Rotax-engine" because its not so easy to handle, as the old two-stroke engine and the MZ, build in the turky, called "Kanuni" are not as the quality as the original eastern-germany MZs.
I think, the MZ TS250/1 ist the best MZ at all. :ja:
I hope, you understand my school-english, its 32 Years ago, i´ve learnt it
