Rear shock absorbers

Hello.

I finally got my ETZ running. I just have a couple of problems with it.
The rear shock did not like the fact that the bike was not run for five years. They started leaking. I guess there is no way of fixing them. I could use a little help for finding good and affordable replacement shocks. Any suggestions? I looked at Hagon but they are quite too expencive.
Also I should change the MZ original front brake master cylinder to a Grimeca type as it started leaking once ageain. It has done it a couple of times earlier but I have managed to fix it, now I think I'll change the whole thing. Is Grimeca much better?

Thanks already
Teemu

You can buy Rear shock absorbers (Stoßdämpfer in german) by
http://www.stossdaempfer-schwarz.de/laden/index.html

Also you can repair this. It is easy.

Thank you for the link. i must ask if they want to send a pair to Finland.

Norbert, you are right. I've never had such crap as the original GDR master cylinder. I try to fix and a couple of weeks later it leaks again. All the time. I would like to buy new riding gear but whats the use when brakefluid is always all over. Must buy the grimeca as it is propably the easies way to fix the problem.

edit: Does anyone know if they speak english at http://www.stossdaempfer-schwarz.de/prod01.htm?

Hello again,

Can somebody tell me the difference between http://www.stossdaempfer-schwarz.de/laden/index.html and http://www.ost2rad.de/product_info.php/info/p873_Federbeine--Paar--MZ--TS-und-ETZ.html

The later are a bit cheaper and seem to be little too short?

If the original ones can be repaired, where can I buy spares for them?

Thanks in advance.

I dont know the differece, but i know, that http://www.stossdaempfer-schwarz.de/laden/index.html is a tradidional munufactury, wich construct and repairs the absorbers. The performance is very good. You can also buy there some progressiv springs:

Ost2rad is just a Dealer.

Hello,

Can someone please help me. I do not know if anyone from stossdaempfer-schwarz speaks english as I tried to contact them by e-mail and tried to ask for postage costs to Finland and no-one has answered me. I wonder if someone from this forum could please ask how much would it cost to send rear shocks to Finland. I would buy them but I think I need to know the whole costs. And also if it is possible to get the progressive springs to the ETZ 251 also.
Thanks in advance.

I try to contact Stoßdämfer-Schwarz to ask them for their possibilities.
If they will not send the parts to your country, i will do this.
Tomorrow, i will phone them.
Then, i will write about the result.

Hi Teemu,
i have phoned with Stoßdämpfer-Schwarz.
It is possible to send the parts to you. He will contact you.
He is sorry, but there are no progressiv springs for the ETZ 251, just for ETZ 250 !
Therefore you must buy the shock absorbers with linear Springs.
So long
Jürgen

Hello and thank you very much!
It is good to know that there is help when you need it. These days it is not always so.
I'll wait for his contact.
And also a good computer programme that translates www-pages properly, or then I should go back to school and learn some german. :D

Hello,

I have used the babel fish and altough it is quite good it does not know the technical terms. I have to try the google translator, even that seems to make funny translations
I learned some german in school long time ago (also used watch Der Alte and Derrick from tv 8) ) so I can understand some but for some reason they do not teach motorcycle technical vocabulary in school.

And even if I understand the topics here I am not ready to use the translation machines to ask for something from any shop as I can not be sure how they translate things. If I want to buy a clutch wire I might end up with the clutch assembly.

Well, there are propably bigger issues in the world than this.

And I am very grateful for help that I get from this forum. We have a small forum in finnish too but there are not so many users as here.
