Good morning everybody!
I have a very frustrating problem with my 1954 IFA RT125/1 and I am hoping somebody can help!........
When the engine is running, the charging light (red) will not go out and only goes slightly dimmer if the engine is revved highly. I have a regler RT125 (D+) from Moped-Werner.de fitted and I have double checked all the wiring and all seems correct. When the engine is running the generator (Lima 45w) is only giving 1-3 volts and I think this should be higher!
This is all that is stopping me from enjoying riding my RT and I am desperate to fix, so any help and advice will be very much appreciated!
Many thanks and kind regards, Neil

Hi Neil,
One picture is worth 1000 words.
So maybe this clip is worth hundred thousand words.
It has englisch subtitles.

Hi Andreas
I've done the first part (DF and D+ together and earth) and I've only got approximately 5-6 volts, so I think my generator may be the problem?

Hi Neil, if you have measured everything correctly and the measurement at the generator only delivers 5 - 6 volts, then here is the problem.

Hi Frank
Yes indeed! I think my generator is faulty (I've got a spare one from an IWL Berlin, hopefully I can use that!

Hi Neil,
Since no one seems to be willing to spend another 1000 words on changing the generator, here’ s is another video on that issue. ?
And don’t miss part 2!
