Hello
The problem is that spare parts for this GDR ignitions are very hard to find and quite expensive. So if a part of this GDR ignition blows up you have a problem....
If you think about buying one, I would recommend one from MZ-B. This is with up-to-date electronic components and all parts are available as spare parts. And the price is o.k. 95 Euro incl. an ignition coil and german taxes .

My ETZ251-Elektronic-ignition is broken down in the past. A new one was too expensive (for me ), therefore i build in the old ignition. No Problem, it fits!

Never change a winning team/running system )! The changing of the ignition is no real problem, take the parts for the old ignition with you on your trip, and you can change it, when it´s neccessary!
