silverstar - idling speed and oil pressure

Depsite having many, mnay bikes and knowing many people, also with many bikes; nobody has owned a rotax engined bike :(

I have had mine 4 days and just done 100 miles today.

I read that the idle speed should be around 1500rpm
I am finding that it really, really doesn't like anything less, and prefers more, and likes to stall (if you stop) when set lower.
Is this normal ???

If the idle does fall below around 1500rpm, then the oil pressure light comes on (only when the engine is hot, i.e. when the oil thinner and pressure less).
Is this also normal ?

I have checked the dell'orto. Very clean. I changed the 45idle jet for a 60 (as I was told to do) and that has made it run loads better below 3000rpm

Excuse my lack of german

cheers

John

Good day.

The idle should really be around 1500 rpm, it is lowered further worsened the idle and the Rotax may come. So, the speed can be better at 1500 rpm.

The oil pressure lamp with a warm engine at idle is normal lights, the engine has such a low oil pressure, the switch did not measure the state gas
can.

To replace the nozzle in Delorto was right, but I know it only from 45 to switch to 50. If it works with the 60 but let them installed.

Please excuse my bad English, it is translated by Google ...

Hello John,
do you already know this site? http://www.infomate.de/miraculis/aw/mz/mz.html
Some of the information in the manuals there is also written in English.

I have the workshop manual and the spares list for the rotax engine.
I have the original users manual (in english) as well.

It didn't explain the idle/oil pressure "feature".

My bike has a very nice sebring A1 exhaust that is very quiet (and restrictive).
It looks like you cannot find exhausts anymore :? for the silverstar.
The bike needs more noise, and I imagine more performance, so I guess I will have to knock holes in the baffles...

John, look here: http://www.mtridersclub.co.uk/
MTs have almost the same engine as MZs, there are many specialists on Rotax and maybe there is someone in your neighbourhood

This is normal, light shoud go out at about 3000rpm.
Pressure ist just about 7psi, and the switch is not very sensible.
