Silverstar Hauptstande (again)

Beitragvon madoc » 11. Februar 2012 15:33

After 6 months of looking I finally found a centrestand, from Germany, that was supposed to fit my silverstar.
However,it doesn't fit !! :(

I found a picture on the internet of a Silverstar, with a stand, where it appears to be fitted through holes in the frame that my silverstar doesnt have.

There are no holes on my frame:

in fact there is nowhere for the stand to fit . as the brake is in the way

I read it; it is no help.
It is a good debate but no conclusions.
Does the silverstar need a separate "fitting kit" or not ? I do not know.

Hi,

what the "Bruder" mean is,you'll need another downstand beam, there is one for centerstand and one without. Take a look in the linked thread, you'll find some pics.

Ah, I see, I wish I had seen this before I bought a stand.
I think finding another "beam" (for a centrestand) will be very, very, very hard ...

Just do not give up
It is currently Sun cold, when it is warmer, I can acces my photo taking pictures so that you can rebuild him
The conversion is not exciting and should be feasible
There are only new recordings are welded to the main stand

Here's another shot of the Silver Star subframe that has the welded bungs for the center stand. This is looking at it from the rear. I just sent my last center stand to a bloke in the UK; obviously he had the center stand provisions on his Silvy since it bolted right on. I do have a couple of these subframes with center stand provisions, but shipping it would be a killer from the US.

Hmmmm something to think about
Thanks Donny

I will investigate the other sidestand
I met a random bloke today; 2-stroke MZ owner.
He told me that the rear wheel axle, sidestand, from an etz will fit
He pointed out that my silverstar hub even had the undrilled mouldings for the switch mountings.
That may be what the earlier chap what talking about.

I just bought and fitted one.
I guess this already known on this forum, but this is a replacement for the rear axle spacer.
Straight fit to a silver-star and much more stable than the original side stand

The two spring version "flies up" when the weight is taken off.

Part number ? Is it 30 25 077 ? Not sure.
