Well, I wouldn´t call the Dell´Orto a "piece of shit" - in my Silverstar, it always worked well!

The Bing 64/33/304 vergaser will adapt to all conditions; new Ron Wood exhaust, 865 cam I have done. There is no "summer season" or "cold season" problems. The Bing is easy to tune and will adapt to all 500cc conditions with simple jet/needle changes easy job. When rebuild the Rotax by big bore to 600+cc, then perhaps upgrade to 34-36mm Del vergaser might be needed, but not for 500cc.

Yes Nordtax, am aware of the 865 danger. The 660 is back in my Silvy now. Only temporary until I find a 665 or 670. The 865 is the cam that is supplied with the Ron Wood Stage 1 Rotax kit and I just try it. I do not notice much difference between the 865 and the original 660 except the idle was bad.

Dieser Thread hat mir gezeigt, daß der Dellorto ein "Stück Scheiße" ist und ein Wartungsproblem für den 500 cm³ Rotax. Der Bing 64/33/304-Vergaser wird sich an alle Bedingungen anpassen; neuer Ron Wood-Auspuff, 865er Nocke habe ich gemacht. Da gibt es keine "Sommerzeit" oder "kalte Jahreszeit" Probleme. Der Bing läßt sich einfach tunen und läßt sich an alle 500 cm³ Bedingungen durch einfache Düsen/Nadelwechsel anpassen, einfache Sache. Wenn man den Rotax durch aufbohren auf 600cm³ und mehr bringt, dann ist vielleicht ein Wechsel auf 34-36 mm Dell´Orto-Vergaser nötig, aber nicht für 500 cm³.

Nun, ich würde den Dell´Orto nicht als "Stück scheiße" bezeichnen - in meiner Silverstar hat er immer gut funktioniert!
Daraufhin meinte Donny, er hätte sich wohl etwas zu hart ausgedrückt.
